AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Yassamin Ansari, an Iranian-American member of the U.S. Congress, criticizing the threats and unlawful approach of Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth against Iran, announced in a message that she has called for the removal of the U.S. president and the Secretary of War.
Ansari wrote in a message on her X account, "Trump is escalating the tensions of a devastating and illegal war, constantly threatening war crimes and striking Iran's infrastructure."
The Democratic member of Congress added, "In just the last 48 hours, his rhetoric, in collusion with Pete Hegseth, has crossed every red line."
Ansari emphasized at the end, "I have activated the request for the 25th Amendment (removal of the U.S. president) and the impeachment of the Secretary of War."
The Iranian-American member of Congress had previously stated, following the war crimes, threats, and insults of Donald Trump, that he is a threat to national security for the United States and the entire world, and that the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution exists for a reason.
According to the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, if the Vice President and a majority of cabinet members conclude that the President is unable to discharge his powers and duties, they may transmit this matter in writing to the leaders of Congress. Following this, the Vice President immediately becomes Acting President. If the President disputes this, Congress, with a two-thirds vote of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, can keep the Vice President in that position.
She stated, "The President of the United States is an unstable and dangerous individual and poses a threat to the national security of our country and the entire world."
Previously, Chris Murphy, the Democratic senator from Connecticut, in response to Trump's threats, had called on members of his cabinet to take action regarding the possibility of removing the president under the Constitution.
This senator, who opposes the U.S. war against Iran, added, "If I were in the shoes of Trump's cabinet members, I would spend the Easter holiday contacting constitutional lawyers regarding the 25th Amendment."
Murphy emphasized, "He is completely insane and uncontrollable. He has already killed thousands of people. He is going to kill thousands more."
